Medical Mission trip to Legaspi, Philippines—March 2007
In March 2007, One World Healthcare USA, Inc. collaborated with Emmanuel Medical Missions and undertook a 7 day mission trip to Legaspi, Bicol State, Philippines.
Legaspi and the surrounding communities were ravaged by Typhoon Remi in December, 2006. Entire villages were wiped off the map and only ruins were left in a lot of other communities.
During the mission, One World Healthcare USA, Inc. provided much needed medical care and drugs to about 800 men, women and children, over a 5 day period and in 4 locations. In addition Emmanuel Medical Missions provided spiritual support, food and other essential supplies. Volunteer personnel were pooled from all over USA and from Manila, Philippines. The mission personnel worked tirelessly and selflessly alongside local medical and other personnel from the Legaspi community. Continuation of care is being carried out by the local Health Ministry.
Diseases encountered include diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, major depression, psoriasis, dehydration and high risk pregnancies.
